This Chesapeake area waterfront home exemplifies contemporary coastal living.  Large windows let the view play center stage, while flexible and functional furnishings create living spaces that give occupants options to work and relax together.  Pops of color on select walls emphasize architectural features and bring a sense of play into the spaces.  And with kids, dogs, and lots of visitors, color and pattern covers a myriad of sins!

The architectural design of this gracious home in Potomac MD is the foundation of its beauty.  Custom millwork elements upgrade the spaces and make them more functional.  Banks of windows let in natural light.   Luxury finishes and fittings add richness and polish.  The result is a beautiful, airy home that is a pleasure to live, work, and entertain in.

This Naples golf community villa takes its inspiration from nature.  With an intentional theme of sand and sky, the colors of the environment are reflected inside through a palette of soft tans and blues, and in the bleached wood accents.  Once outside, the lanai sports splashes of happy color, reflecting the garden setting and the vibrant colors of the tropical Florida locale.

Design Center Showhouse

Balancing the elements of cool and warm, reflective and patinaed is the secret to success in this Modern Showhouse, held at the Washington DC Design Center. Stainless finishes on the dining table, sideboard and stools contrast with  the warmth of the antique Asian armoire, the upholstered wood chairs and the thick wool rug.  This project was featured in Metropolitan Home Magazine and the Washington Post.

HGTV Loft--Living & Bar Space

A 2-story industrial penthouse in downtown DC desperately needed warmth and functionality.  Capital Design designed built-in solutions for the living spaces, enhancing the functionality and capitalizing on the city views.  Through the use of rich paint colors, warm fabrics and transitional furnishings, the once cold-and-empty space was transformed into a hip haven for its lucky bachelor owner. Luxurious neutrals punched up with global antiques set this Georgetown residence on par with its international upscale neighborhood!  Marrying the old with the new lends a sophisticated perspective and allows owners to curate a collection of very special pieces.

Washington DC is an international city, so what better place to incorporate a bit of culture into one's decor?  Many of the items in this beautiful townhouse were sourced from auctions, and others were chosen locally.  Bringing them together with style and flair is what interior design is all about!

This upscale lobby was transformed through the use of bold millwork cladding, contemporary lighting, and custom stone details.

Aloft Hotel Linthicum

This W-branded hotel is positioned for fun!  A round reception desk greets visitors upon arrival, and there are plenty of places for guests to work and play. Built-in functionality is paired with colorful, modern decor and lighting throughout.  Spaces are flexible, used differently at various times of day.  Guest rooms are tailored with built-in storage.  Its hard not to like the Aloft!

Cambria Rockville

This downtown Rockville hotel across from Cambria's headquarters set the new standard for the brand.  A warm and welcoming color palette, custom millwork, transitional furnishings and large-scale art pieces make an impact in public spaces.  

Civil War Town

Staunton Virginia is a charming town near Washington DC that dates back to the days of the Civil War.  The Stonewall Jackson Hotel has hosted many American heroes and dignitaries, and today welcomes guests from all over the world.  Its traditional features have been maintained and updated, giving guests a sense of tangible history while offering all of the modern amenities a 21st-century traveler expects.
